Every Place Is a Concept Southcoast (EPIC for short) is a dedicated non-profit in the Southcoast of Massachusetts. And, it is a concept! What concept would that be? Well that isn’t entirely up to our team but we’re working on it!  You see, our mission is to engage a broader public in the shaping of the shared concept of our Southcoast community through creative participatory cultural events. We work with a diverse and inclusive body through communally made music, visual arts, poetry, dance, and storytelling to imagine and bring to life a concept of place. We choose with intention who we are together, who we want to be, and through those, what is home. And in our storytelling we choose what we make of our rich multicultural present, what we claim for our history, and what we ask of our future.

At EPIC Southcoast we rely on the creations of artists and organizers who seek to bring the full community in on the creation. Our vision is unapologetically progressive and communal in the most simple definition of the words: we are for progress, and we are a collective of individuals. We celebrate the many individual identities we contain. We are dedicated to starting with the concept and then proceeding to make the creative vision of the people of Southcoast MA the fabric of the physical reality we live in. Our primary tool to that ends is free, inclusive, collaborative, creative opportunities for all. Every place is a concept. Join us in the playful work of building a concept worthy of the word home.
